| NOTE: It takes approx. four to five hours each day or night to test. Candidates are not permittted to bring purses, tote bags, papers, cell phones, portable music players, hand held games, food items, or textbooks. Do not bring small children. There is not a place for them to wait. | ||

GUIDELINES: |
||
Beginning January 1, 2006, an individual wishing to take the GED must first have taken the Official Practice Test that is administered by all Adult Education offices statewide, and an official notarized form will be issued to the test-taker. |
||
Candidates may call or come by the testing center and request a GED packet at their convenience. Complete the registration form and return it with the appropriate fee. A test date will not be scheduled until the registration form and test fee is received. The GED test fee is non-refundable. |

AGE REQUIREMENT: |
||
| The applicant must be at least 18 years of age and not have received a high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate. Individuals who are 17 may be tested providing they have been released from the school system where the applicant resides. Applicants who are 17 or 18 years of age must provide the test center with a "Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development - Superintendent's Recommendation for the GED Testing Program" referred to as and "age waiver". Anyone who is 19 years of age who attended school during the current year must also submit the same document. | ||
COST: |

Test fee for an entire test battery is $55. Retests are $11 per battery. This fee must be paid prior to testing. The fee is non-refundable/non-transferable. |

RETEST: |
||
Candidates must wait at least 30 days to re-take and part of the GED test. Candidates may not test more than 3 times per test in one year. You may take as few as one test or the complete battery of tests in order to earn a passing score. |
